The word for today is: hypocrite. Can you say hypocrite boys and girls? Good. I knew you could. The reason why hypocrite is the word of today is all thanks to my wonderful boss. This woman has not worked a full scheduled week since I began working there at Suncoast. She calls out sick so often we swear she either has the plague or is a test subject for secret F.B.I. biological weapon programs. Mysteriously enough, these sick days have either come right before or directly after her days off. On the days when she actually does bother to grace us with her presense, she often shows up late. Like an hour or so late. Frequently.
So when I called her this morning to inform her that I would not be coming into work because I've been ill all weekend and I feel like feral hamsters are trying to rip me a new asshole (not quite in those terms, but you get my point), you can imagine my surprise when I heard her mutter "Wow...that's a lot." You've got to be fucking kidding me. I am a good, solid employee. Since I came to work for this God-forsaken company last August, I have called out a grand total of 11 times over a period of 8 months, including the hell of holiday rush when I was working almost every other day. I won't lie, there were a few times when I was just dog-ass tired and lazy, but for the most part when I was ill I was ill. This chick has tried to call off work because of "boyfriend problems". Please. Spare me. Did I mention that she was "sick" the entire week before Christmas? Tch. I herein throw in reference to logs and eyes.
Moving on to happier note before I get another stomach cramp. Sometimes I sit back and realize just how blessed I am to have my friends. There are a lot of people out there who are alone, or who may as well be because they don't have people who care about them. I do, and I'm just taking this oppertunity to say thanks to all of you. Not to sound like a craptastical greeting card or anything, but you enrich my life in so many ways, and you are always there to encourage me, or make fun of me, or whatever it is that I need when I need it. I love you all. Please keep feeding the bear. ^_~
